A 54-year-old man from Baltimore has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in June, according to a statement from the Baltimore Police Department.
Leonard Owens was taken into custody after allegedly shooting a 36-year-old man on June 20. The incident took place around 5:19 p.m. in the 300 block of North Gilmor Street, located in the southwest district of the city.
Police responded to the scene following a ShotSpotter alert and discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Emergency medical services transported the injured man to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities reported that a person of interest was quickly detained for questioning at the scene. Following an investigation, Owens was charged with attempted first-degree murder in July.
