BALTIMORE — Although schools in the Baltimore City Public School System are closed due to snow, significant preparations are taking place to ensure a smooth reopening.
Maintenance crews worked overnight to clear parking lots and sidewalks, ensuring that all areas are safe and accessible when students return. The executive director of facilities, Scott Washington, highlighted the proactive measures taken, stating that salting of parking lots and sidewalks begins even before snow begins to fall.
These crews are responsible for maintaining more than 160 properties, focusing on snow removal and ensuring that walkways are clear.
