House Fire Displaces Family in Kingsville, Maryland

A house fire in Kingsville, located in Harford County, has resulted in the displacement of two adults and a baby.

The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Whitt Road. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, the fire was first detected when a woman inside the residence heard the smoke alarm.

Upon investigating, she discovered smoke filling the living room and identified the garage as the source of the flames. Quick-thinking, she closed the door to the garage, which helped contain the fire's spread. The woman was able to escape the home with her infant son and subsequently called 911.

Fire officials reported that the actions taken by the woman were instrumental in limiting the fire damage primarily to the garage area.

Investigators are currently looking into potential accidental causes, including an electrical failure or issues related to lithium-ion batteries, although no definitive source has been confirmed yet.

The fire has caused an estimated $250,000 in damages.
