BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Authorities have launched an investigation into a collision involving a school bus in Parkville.
According to an update from the Baltimore County Police Department, the incident took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Harford Road, specifically in the 7800 block.
The school bus was transporting students from the Maryland School for the Blind at the time of the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2017 Ford Focus traveling in the southbound lanes unexpectedly swerved into the northbound lanes, colliding with the bus after striking a 2014 Nissan Altima.
As a result of the collision, the bus ultimately crashed into a commercial building located on Harford Road in the 8700 block. Emergency responders reported that at least 11 individuals sustained injuries from the incident.
Recent updates from the Baltimore County Fire Department reveal that two adults and one child were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while at least eight others received evaluations at the scene.
