CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — A 27-year-old man, Bryan Neal Gordon, has been charged with kidnapping and assault in connection with a case that took place in Charles County, Maryland. This incident follows a previous accusation of kidnapping near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
The alleged assault occurred on June 28, when the victim arranged to meet someone in the 2200 block of Old Washington Road in Waldorf. Upon entering the suspect's vehicle, Gordon reportedly claimed to be a police officer, subsequently handcuffing the victim and physically assaulting her.
During the ordeal, the suspect is accused of driving the victim to a different location where she was sexually assaulted. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape several hours later and contacted 911 for assistance. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators later discovered that Gordon had been arrested the following day by the Maryland Transportation Authority Police in Anne Arundel County for an unrelated kidnapping incident that bore similar characteristics to the case in Charles County.
Following the arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for Gordon's vehicle, which yielded evidence linking him to the assault on Old Washington Road. He now faces charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, and related offenses.
Gordon is currently being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. Authorities are urging anyone who may have had encounters with Gordon to reach out to detectives at 301-609-6471.
