Marilyn Mosby, the former State’s Attorney for Baltimore, faces a significant shift in her legal representation as her entire defense team has filed a motion to withdraw from her federal perjury case. This development comes shortly after U.S. District Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby indicated intentions to hold lead attorney A. Scott Bolden in contempt of court.
Judge Griggsby provided Bolden with a two-week window to secure new counsel and respond to her findings that he had breached court regulations concerning improper filings and public comments made outside the courtroom.
In their withdrawal request, Mosby’s four attorneys from Bolden’s firm cited a conflict of interest that prevents them from continuing to represent her. They stated that they must “immediately move to withdraw from this matter.”
While Mosby has two additional attorneys based in Maryland, Lucius Outlaw and Gary Proctor, both have indicated they are unable to assume the role of lead counsel due to other commitments.
