A 24-year-old man from Silver Spring, Montgomery County, was taken into custody on Monday after a woman reported that he had kidnapped her during a traffic stop near Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
According to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police (MDTA), Bryan Neal Gordon is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Anne Arundel County. He faces charges of false imprisonment, kidnapping, assault, and various traffic violations.
The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. when an officer from the MDTA, assigned to the airport detachment, stopped Gordon's Chevrolet Malibu for making an illegal U-turn at the intersection of West Nursery and Elm roads in Linthicum.
During the traffic stop, the woman exited the vehicle and informed the police that she had been handcuffed and kidnapped by Gordon. MDTA Police investigators arrived at the scene to gather evidence and conduct interviews.
According to police spokesperson Sgt. Clinton Kelly, the victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and the MDTA's criminal investigations unit is actively looking into the circumstances surrounding the case.
