A tragic incident occurred in Baltimore on Thursday night when a 20-year-old moped rider died after crashing into a brick wall.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers initiated a traffic stop for the moped rider and another individual on the 100 block of North Eutaw Street shortly before the fatal crash.

While the second moped driver complied and stopped, the 20-year-old fled the scene. Police confirmed that they did not pursue him.

Moments later, the man crashed his moped into a brick wall located on the 600 block of West Franklin Street in the Seton Hill neighborhood around 11:25 p.m.

Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed by authorities.
