Police Identify Suspect in Towson University Student's Road Rage Death

Baltimore County police have announced the identity of a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Towson University student, which they believe may have stemmed from a road rage incident.

The suspect, Reginald T. Gray Jr., 33, is being sought in connection with the death of 22-year-old Nasir Majied, who was shot on June 5 in Towson Circle. Authorities consider Gray armed and dangerous.

According to police reports, the incident occurred while both men were driving on York Road when Gray allegedly fired multiple shots at Majied's vehicle. Following the shooting, Majied was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Police have released a wanted poster featuring Gray, along with details about the vehicle he was driving, a silver 2007 Nissan Altima with Virginia license plates bearing the number SXM-4392. Gray is described as standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds, with a notable tattoo on the front of his neck.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Gray and Majied had any prior relationship or what specifically triggered the shooting. Detective Trae Corbin noted that while a motive remains unclear, road rage is one possibility being investigated.

Gray has a criminal history, including a conviction for attempted murder in 2019, for which he served less than five years of a seven-year sentence. He also faced charges for assaulting a corrections officer during his time at Central Booking in relation to the same case and had drug charges in 2013.

In response to the shooting, community leaders in Towson recently organized a safety walk to address public concerns. Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough emphasized the need for a careful release of information to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

Police are offering a reward of $2,000 for any information leading to Gray's arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police at 911 or 410-887-3700, or to reach out anonymously via Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587.
