Baltimore Police are actively searching for six suspects following an assault on a 74-year-old man outside a 7-Eleven store in Liberty Square.

The incident occurred on July 7 at approximately 3:46 a.m. on the 2500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. According to police reports, the group of younger males approached the victim as he was leaving the convenience store.

Surveillance footage released by the Baltimore Police Department shows the suspects quickly surrounding the elderly man. One individual brandished a gray assault-style rifle, while another swung a sword at the victim. The group forced the man against the store's front doors, where they began throwing crates and other objects at him.

As the assault escalated, the suspects knocked the man to the ground, where they continued to kick and punch him. The police have classified the incident as an attempted armed robbery.
