Baltimore County Police have launched an investigation into a shooting that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man in Gwynn Oak, Maryland.
Officers responded to a call at a shopping center on Whitehead Court around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, where they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the rapid response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Christopher Pierce, with police releasing his name on Monday.
This incident marks the second homicide investigation in the Gwynn Oak and Woodlawn areas within a week. Earlier, on July 7, two siblings, a 9-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were found dead in their home on Talles Road. The children, identified as Steve Allen and Giovanna Marie, were reported to have been shot. Their parents contacted emergency services, prompting police to discover the tragic scene.
These two homicides occurred just three miles apart from each other, raising concerns in the community.
