Baltimore County Police reported that a nine-year-old and a fifteen-year-old were shot and killed in their Gwynn Oak residence on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the scene in the 6100 block of Talles Road around 7:20 PM, where they discovered the bodies of the siblings. Both were pronounced dead at the location.
Authorities revealed that the children's parents returned home to find them and subsequently contacted the police.
Chief Robert McCullough expressed the profound tragedy of the incident, stating, "It's just even more tragic because it's an unnecessary loss of life. These are two lives that have been snuffed out before they could even get started."
As the investigation is in its early stages, police have not identified any potential suspects at this time. Residents in the area can expect to see a continued law enforcement presence as the investigation unfolds.
