PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A 39-year-old man from Suitland has been convicted of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Sherron Turner, whose body was discovered in a disturbing condition.
Michael McClanahan was apprehended in April 2025 after police found Turner, 44, dead in the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue. Officers were conducting a welfare check when they made the grim discovery of her body, which was wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete.
Following the discovery, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Turner died from blunt force trauma. Evidence presented during the trial indicated that neighbors had overheard arguments between McClanahan and Turner in the days leading up to her death.
On the day of the incident, McClanahan reportedly fled the scene in Turner's vehicle. He was later captured on surveillance footage at a Walmart in Washington, D.C., where he was seen placing items on his person and was involved in a stabbing incident before his arrest.
McClanahan was taken into custody in D.C. just one day after Turner’s body was found. He now faces a sentence of up to 41 years in prison for his convictions of second-degree murder and the illegal disposal of a body.
Sentencing for McClanahan is scheduled for October 6, 2026, as stated by Prince George's County State's Attorney Tara Jackson.
