Ten people, including three children, were taken to the hospital following a serious accident involving a moving truck on Columbia Pike. The incident occurred around 1:43 p.m. at the intersection with Fairland Road, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
Officials reported that the truck lost control and collided with at least ten vehicles on the highway. Fortunately, no injuries were deemed life-threatening. A total of 18 individuals were assessed at the scene, as stated by David Pazos, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Of those evaluated, ten were transported to local hospitals while eight declined further medical attention. The injured included a mix of adults and children.
By approximately 3:18 p.m., some access to the scene was restored, allowing vehicles to pass through. Eyewitness images shared by officials depicted significant damage, including a moving truck with its front end crushed and several vehicles overturned. A Tesla Cybertruck was notably split in half due to the impact.
