TOWSON, Md. — The tragic murder of Nasir Majied, a student at Towson University, has been linked to a road rage incident that occurred on June 5. According to charging documents, the confrontation escalated when Majied was driving his Kia sedan along York Road.
Surveillance footage reviewed by Baltimore County Police showed a Nissan Altima, registered in Virginia, running a red light and cutting off Majied. The situation intensified as both vehicles continued to maneuver aggressively, cutting each other off in traffic.
Gunfire erupted from the Nissan, striking Majied, who was later found deceased in his vehicle near Towson Circle.
Authorities identified the Nissan's owner as Reginald T. Gray, who was apprehended on June 22 after weeks of evading capture.
Gray has a criminal history, having been convicted of attempted murder in Baltimore City in 2019. Court records indicate that he received a 12-year sentence, which included five years for using a handgun during the commission of a felony. It remains unclear why he was released early from prison.
Currently, Gray is being held in Baltimore County without bail.
