ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — A tragic accident occurred Tuesday afternoon when a young girl lost her life after falling off her bicycle and into the path of a dump truck.
The incident took place just before 2 p.m. in the 2000 block of Daniels Road, according to Howard County Police.
Emergency responders pronounced the girl dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the dump truck remained on-site following the collision and reported no injuries.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
