OCEAN CITY, Md. — A boat collision on Friday afternoon resulted in injuries to two individuals in Ocean City, according to reports from local authorities.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. in the Isle of Wight Bay near Teal Drive. Emergency crews from the Ocean City Fire Department were dispatched to the scene following the crash.

Initial investigations reveal that the two boats collided head-on in the bay. Emergency personnel provided treatment to the injured at the scene with assistance from Maryland Natural Resources Police.

Following initial care, one of the patients was transported to a medical facility in Salisbury, Maryland, while the other was airlifted via LifeNet helicopter to Shock Trauma for further treatment.

The current condition of both individuals has not been disclosed.

Maryland Natural Resources Police are leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
