FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — A 36-year-old resident of Walkersville has been arrested following a violent altercation at Loy's Station Park in Rocky Ridge on Wednesday evening.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office reported that the suspect, identified as Michael Anthony Faya, engaged in a confrontation with another man after both parked their vehicles near the park.
During the dispute, Faya reportedly brandished a machete, inflicting serious injuries to the victim's head and arm. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:22 PM, where they found the injured man.
Authorities quickly identified Faya as the assailant and secured an arrest warrant. He was located and taken into custody at a residence on Dublin Road.
Faya has been charged with first-degree assault and is currently held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. The victim has since received medical treatment and has been released.
