Catering Operations Assistant - Owings Mills

This is a fully onsite role based at our Owings Mills location. There is no remote option available for this position.


ROLE OVERVIEW


The Catering Operations Assistant provides essential day-to-day operational support to the management team at Lib's Catering's Owings Mills facility. This role keeps the physical environment, administrative workflow, and event preparation running smoothly so that sales, culinary, and event management staff can focus on client-facing and production work.


This is a hands-on, facility-based role. The right candidate is organized, reliable, self-directed, and takes pride in maintaining a professional and functional workspace. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to getting things done are essential to succeeding in this position.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Facility & Office Operations



Open the Owings Mills facility at the start of each shift
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office, tasting rooms, and common areas throughout the day
Conduct periodic deep cleans and support seasonal facility refreshes as directed
Restock and maintain supplies and unreasonable hospitality display items
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day facility needs, flagging maintenance or supply issues to management

Event Prep Support



Assist with event prep including any unreasonable hospitality items for events
Support setup and breakdown of client tastings at the Owings Mills facility, including room preparation and supply staging
Other duties as assigned

Administrative & Print Support



Answer phones and direct inquiries to the appropriate sales or team member.
Prepare and distribute documentation for all events.
Support light administrative tasks including filing, labeling, and data entry as assigned by management team members

Errands & Delivery Support



Transport product and supplies between locations as needed
Manage small local deliveries as assigned, maintaining professionalism and timeliness as a representative of the brand
Track and communicate errand status and receipts to the appropriate manager upon return

Warehouse & Administrative Support



Provide direct administrative support to the Warehouse Manager
Post and communicate updates from the Warehouse Manager to the broader operations team as directed

Optional Event Support (Optional / Weekend)



Available to pick up server or bartender shifts at Lib's Catering events on weekends
Paid at the standard event service rate; not required as part of the core role but welcomed as supplemental hours

QUALIFICATIONS


Required



Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated — able to manage a task list without constant supervision
Strong attention to detail and follow-through on assigned tasks
Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented catering or hospitality environment
Clear and professional communication — written and verbal
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and perform light physical tasks
Basic computer proficiency (printing, email, Google Drive)
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation — local driving is a regular part of this role

Preferred



Prior experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or a similar operational support role
Familiarity with event operations or catering facility environments
Experience handling light administrative or office coordination tasks
