Duties
(Note: The duties and responsibilities enumerated in this class specification are for the purpose of determining a common set of minimum qualifications and salary level for all positions in this class. They are not intended to include all of the essential functions of all positions in the class.)- Accept, review, distribute, and enter a computerized record of permit application;
- Identify and assign required reviewers, process financial transactions, issue permits;
- Assist Permit Processors with processing permit applications and implementing procedural changes;
- Provide information to the general public, property owners, consultants, and County agencies on the procedures for submitting permit applications and calculating permit fees;
- Review residential site plans for setback requirements.
- Performs related work as required.
- Knowledge of the permit application process and forms;
- Knowledge of zoning classifications and setback requirements;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, architectural plans, and associated construction documents;
- Strong data entry background;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to write and speak effectively and convey permitting requirements.
- Ability to maintain effective work relationships with the public.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from high school.Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in planning, subdivision control, and zoning enforcement work; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
Note: Two (2) or more years of experience in planning, subdivision control, and zoning enforcement work may be substituted with two (2) or more years of experience in permitting and/or land development, and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
