Social Services Aide - Center for Family Success - Non-Merit

Job Title A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Bureau of Community Based Services/Center for Family Success, Department of Health and Human Services.

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week

Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

Examples of Duties Assists with the direct care, safety, development, and well-being of all child participants. Assists with the implementation of developmentally appropriate program activities for infants and toddlers, Provides informal parenting education to parent participants. Observes child behavior and notes observances. Assists with screenings and assessments. Records and enters data. Maintains records and reports. Provides a clean and appropriate environment. Enforces health and safety standards. Assists with transportation of families to and from the Center. Attends trainings and meetings as required. Qualifications Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Must have 90 clock hours Core Knowledge Training.

Preferred Qualifications

45 clock hours of Infant and Toddler Training. Understand and be committed to the overall philosophy of family support. Possess child growth and development knowledge from birth through five years of age. Maintain respect for confidentiality. Relate to people of diverse backgrounds. Model appropriate interaction with young children and parents. Ability to work independently as well as a team member and leader. Ability to schedule and manage time. Ability to follow direction/curriculum/lesson plans. Licenses and Certificates

This position requires a valid license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license at the time of appointment.

Examination Procedure Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions.
