Rogers, who contemplated a full-time military career, found the Maryland Air National Guard to be an ideal option, allowing him to serve while remaining close to home. His mother, Rebecca Rodgers-McCoy, shared her pride in his decision to join the military.
Seventeen-year-old Seuntimofe Moradeyo drew inspiration from a cousin who served on active duty, noting that her decision is now influencing her younger brother's interest in the military.
In contrast, Alex Pascal became the first in his family to enlist, viewing his decision as an empowering step toward independence. He chose the National Guard to balance his civilian career while embracing new challenges.
These 250 new service members, each with their distinct backgrounds and aspirations, are set to contribute to Maryland's military legacy, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
