BALTIMORE — A man from Aberdeen has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly harassing and threatening a law enforcement officer associated with the United States Supreme Court.
Daniel Amos, 51, is accused of making repeated calls to the unnamed officer over a span of two years, from April 2024 to April 2026. According to the Department of Justice, these communications included threats intended to obstruct and intimidate the officer in the performance of his official duties.
The DOJ's statement indicated that Amos's actions were also aimed at retaliating against the officer for fulfilling his responsibilities as a government official. Details regarding the nature of any relationship between Amos and the officer remain unclear, as do the specific motivations behind the alleged threats.
If found guilty, Amos could face a substantial prison sentence of over 15 years.
