On Saturday, the Walmart in Cockeysville became a festive gathering place as over 100 Baltimore County police officers participated in the annual 'Shop with a Cop' event alongside local children.
Organized by the Optimist Clubs across Baltimore County and the Police and Community Relations Council in Cockeysville, each child received $100 to spend on gifts, allowing them to shop for themselves or their loved ones.
This year’s event was further enhanced by collaborations with the Maryland State Police and the Baltimore County Fire Department, fostering a sense of community and support.
The Dulaney High School marching band performed, contributing to the holiday atmosphere and uplifting spirits among attendees.
Local businesses also played a significant role in the event; Mission BBQ provided breakfast for participants, while Combos for Kids donated 10 bicycles that were raffled off to children. Additionally, Arrow Child and Family Ministries set up a hot cocoa station and supplied t-shirts and gift-wrapping materials.
In a recent post on social media, the Baltimore County Police Department highlighted the importance of community engagement and support during the holiday season.
