Baltimore County Police Capture Rhode Island Kidnapping Suspects After Car Chase

Two individuals wanted in connection with a kidnapping case from Rhode Island were arrested in Baltimore County on Sunday evening after a police chase that involved two children.

Authorities reported that around 4 p.m., officers from the Essex Precinct were notified by Maryland State Police regarding a vehicle linked to felony warrants in their area. The suspects, who were inside the vehicle, failed to stop when police activated their lights and sirens.

As the pursuit continued, officers utilized stop sticks, successfully deflating several tires on the suspect's vehicle. The suspects then attempted to flee on foot with two children, but police apprehended both adults shortly thereafter.

During the arrest, a police dog bit the male suspect, necessitating his transport to a local hospital for treatment. The female suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The two children, who were not harmed during the ordeal, were evaluated at a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Officials confirmed that no vehicles, either police or civilian, were damaged during the chase. The suspects are expected to face charges related to traffic violations and an assault on a police officer.

Maryland State Police, in collaboration with Rhode Island State Police, is continuing the investigation into the incident.
