TOWSON, MD — The Baltimore County Board of Education has announced the selection of a new superintendent for the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) system, with the official name to be revealed on Monday.
The chosen candidate, whose identity remains undisclosed until state approval, is one of four individuals who were considered for the position.
Following the announcement, the candidate will be formally appointed on Wednesday, with the new superintendent set to take office on July 1.
This transition comes after the current superintendent, Myriam Rogers, announced her retirement in February, prompting the search for her successor. BCPS serves a large student body, with over 100,000 students enrolled across its schools.
