The Baltimore County Board of Education has made its selection for the next superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS). This decision follows a series of interviews with four finalists for the position.
According to state regulations, the board has submitted its preferred candidate to Maryland State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright for approval. The name of the chosen candidate is expected to be disclosed on Monday, June 22, after receiving the necessary state endorsement.
The board has scheduled an in-person meeting for Wednesday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m. During this meeting, they will formally appoint the new superintendent. A closed session is set to occur prior to this at 6:15 p.m.
The incoming superintendent is anticipated to officially assume the role on Wednesday, July 1.
