BALTIMORE — A man from Baltimore has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident that occurred near Walter P. Carter Elementary/Middle School.
The suspect, 42-year-old Dazsawn Elliot, was arrested after an investigation by the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) detectives linked him to the shooting of a 39-year-old man.
The incident took place on June 5 at approximately 2:37 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of York Road after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Following the shooting, Northern District Shooting detectives took over the investigation. After more than a month of inquiries, warrant apprehension detectives arrested Elliot on July 15.
Elliot was then taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he now faces charges of attempted first-degree murder.
