A Baltimore resident has been sentenced to eight years in prison due to his participation in a drug trafficking scheme, as confirmed by the Maryland State's Attorney's Office.
Marvin Miller, 38, faced charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine stemming from a federal investigation initiated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in 2023.
The investigation focused on a drug trafficking operation in Baltimore, with law enforcement beginning surveillance on a stash house operated by Miller in April 2023. Authorities utilized cameras and electronic monitoring to observe Miller's daily visits to the location, where he frequently met with associates involved in the operation.
On December 19, 2023, Miller was recorded meeting with a customer named Elroy Johnson inside the stash house. Following this meeting, Johnson left the premises with a concealed item and was subsequently stopped by law enforcement for a traffic violation. During a search of his vehicle, officers discovered one kilogram of cocaine hidden beneath the driver's seat.
In response to this discovery, law enforcement secured a warrant to search both Miller's stash house and his vehicle. When officers approached Miller at the stash house, he attempted to flee but was apprehended. Upon his capture, he acknowledged possessing cocaine and cash within the residence.
Investigators recovered a total of one kilogram of cocaine and $671,685 in cash, which was stored in two suitcases. Additionally, three cellphones were seized, and based on the content of his messages, authorities believe Miller was planning to purchase approximately 60 kilograms of cocaine with the funds found in the stash house.
