Baltimore Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Hiding Body in Refrigerator

A Baltimore man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in concealing the body of a deceased individual in a refrigerator. Damerum Burroughs, 47, was found guilty of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder in connection with the death of Donny Robinson.

Robinson, 61, was discovered by Baltimore Police on March 10, 2025, inside an apartment at Gilmor Homes, located in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood. Authorities reported that he had suffered two stab wounds to the neck.

During the sentencing hearing at the Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse, Judge Cynthia H. Jones expressed her disappointment with Burroughs' actions. "You’re going to have a life sentence of reflection," she stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

Burroughs had been residing with Robinson at the time of his death, having recently been released from prison for a previous armed robbery conviction. His actions following the incident included blocking access to the apartment for emergency responders and failing to report the crime.

Robinson's daughter, Kiara Robinson, spoke in court about the impact of her father's death, describing it as a life sentence of grief. She urged the court to remember her father for his humanity rather than the circumstances of his death.

Burroughs later expressed remorse for not cooperating with law enforcement but appeared to deflect responsibility for the stabbing itself. He stated, "I wish I would’ve said something sooner. He was a good man," despite lacking credible evidence to support his claims of innocence.

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped more serious charges against Burroughs, including first-degree murder. No other individuals have been charged in connection with Robinson's death, and the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the case a homicide due to multiple sharp force injuries.

In addition to his prison sentence, Burroughs will face further legal repercussions as he must appear before the Maryland Parole Commission for violating the terms of his release.
