The Baltimore Police Department is grieving the loss of Officer James Beckham, who died in a car accident on Saturday morning.
Police Commissioner Richard Worley expressed his condolences to Beckham's family, stating that the department is standing by them during this challenging time. He emphasized that the department's thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends affected by this tragedy.
According to the Maryland State Police, the incident occurred on December 20 at approximately 8 a.m. Troopers responded to a multi-vehicle collision on the inner loop of I-695, near Perring Parkway in Baltimore County.
Officer Beckham was one of the individuals involved in the crash and was subsequently pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Funeral arrangements for Officer Beckham have yet to be announced. The department is requesting that the community keep Beckham's family, friends, and fellow officers in their thoughts during this difficult time.
