BARCS Rescues Hundreds of Birds Following Animal Control Investigation

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) has recently received a significant influx of birds from Baltimore City Animal Control, totaling 322 birds rescued due to inadequate care.

This rescue follows a previous intake of 47 birds from the same source just a week earlier. Many of the newly arrived birds were in poor health and required specialized medical attention beyond the initial assessment.

In response to the urgent need for care, BARCS converted its training room into a temporary medical triage area, mobilizing all available personnel to ensure each bird received the necessary examination and treatment.

Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter expressed gratitude for the support of veterinary teams from the National Aquarium and the Maryland Zoo, who collaborated with BARCS staff to provide expert care for the birds.
