Police in Bel Air are actively investigating an incident involving the attempted abduction of a young girl on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred between 4:30 and 5:00 PM along Majors Choice Drive, close to the community pond. According to reports, the suspect approached the girl from behind and grabbed her by the neck.

The situation escalated when the girl screamed, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. Fortunately, she was able to escape unharmed.

Authorities describe the suspect as potentially driving a white or gray SUV, which may have a rear hatchback. Witnesses have noted that he might have been wearing a baseball cap during the incident.

Local residents are encouraged to check their doorbell or Ring camera footage from the time of the incident to assist in the investigation.
