A boat explosion on the Fourth of July in Cecil County resulted in injuries to nine individuals, according to reports from local authorities.
The incident occurred at Schaefer's Canal House, where emergency responders were called to the scene following the explosion. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, along with other state agencies, arrived to assist in the situation.
Of the nine injured, seven were aboard the boat while two were on the dock at the time of the incident. Four individuals sustained serious injuries and were subsequently transported to hospitals via helicopter for further medical care.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation as officials work to gather more information regarding the circumstances surrounding this event.
