Pasadena, Md. — A child is currently in critical condition following a near-drowning incident that occurred on Sunday morning in a residential swimming pool.
Emergency responders from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department arrived at the scene in the 800 block of 223rd Street around 7:42 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered the child unresponsive at the bottom of the pool.
Fire Lieutenant Prokopchak reported that the child was quickly removed from the water and transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where advanced life support measures were implemented.
According to a spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Police, there are no initial indications of foul play surrounding the incident. The police have stated that further details will not be disclosed to respect the family's privacy during this challenging time.
This incident comes just days after another child drowned at a home in Bel Air, highlighting ongoing concerns about child safety around swimming pools.
