Cleveland Cavaliers Guard James Harden Arrested on Weapons Charge in Texas

James Harden, the guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was taken into custody early Saturday morning in Harris County, Texas. According to court documents, he was arrested around 3:40 a.m. for unlawfully carrying a handgun.

The firearm was reportedly not in a holster and was in plain sight within his vehicle, leading to the misdemeanor charge. Following his arrest, Harden was released on bond.

As part of the conditions of his release, Harden is prohibited from possessing any firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. Additionally, he must refrain from using alcohol or drugs and is subject to random drug testing.

Harden’s arraignment is set for June 22. This incident comes shortly after the Cavaliers concluded their season with a defeat against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals.

Earlier this year, Harden was traded to the Cavaliers from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Darius Garland and a second-round draft pick.
