Cockeysville Residents Alarmed by Recent Car Break-Ins

COCKEYSVILLE, Md. — Residents of The Apartment at Saddle Brooke are expressing their frustration following a spate of car break-ins that have left many feeling vulnerable. Reports indicate that around 15 vehicles, primarily Hondas, have been targeted, with thieves stealing airbags.

Neighbor Ganesh Munisamy shared his dismay, stating, "No one wants to wake up and see their car broken into, so it's very upsetting." The prevalence of these thefts has raised concerns among residents, as this is not the first occurrence in recent months.

Dreana Beane, another resident, reported that her car window was smashed, but she believes the thieves were interrupted by police before they could access the airbag. "This isn’t the first time; it’s the second round in this neighborhood in the last two months, so complete frustration," she said.

Residents have been proactive in seeking solutions, reaching out to both maintenance and the leasing office about the possibility of installing security cameras. However, their requests have yet to yield results. Beane noted that management suggested she create a petition for the cameras, which she plans to do as a last effort before considering a move.

“We need some help; something needs to happen because this is not the first time, and I’m pretty sure it’s not the last,” Beane added.

Baltimore County Police are currently investigating the break-ins and thefts. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact them at 410-887-4636.
