More than 30 individuals sustained injuries, with one person in critical condition, following a significant accident involving an MTA bus in Pikesville, Maryland, on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Reisterstown Road, affecting a stretch of roadway between Old Court Road and McHenry Avenue.

According to witnesses, the bus collided with numerous vehicles before crashing into a nearby FedEx building. Baltimore County Fire Chief Joseph Dixon reported that the bus struck 11 cars, resulting in extensive damage, including one vehicle that flipped onto its roof.

"It's more like a war scene," Dixon remarked, highlighting the chaotic nature of the event that overwhelmed emergency responders.

Emergency services transported 36 individuals to hospitals, including the bus driver, who suffered life-threatening injuries. Several victims were seen being carried away on stretchers, and the crash also caused power lines to fall.

Daisy Flores, an employee at a nearby pizza shop, described rushing to assist those affected by the crash. "A pretty sad scene to see," she said, noting that many victims were in shock and unable to communicate.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore stated that his administration is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with local officials to provide necessary support. "Dawn and I are keeping everyone impacted in our hearts and prayers," he expressed.

Baltimore County Councilman Julian Jones and Senator Chris Van Hollen also shared their thoughts, emphasizing gratitude for the first responders who acted quickly to manage the scene and assist those injured.

By early Thursday morning, Reisterstown Road had reopened to traffic.
