Residents of the Monte Verde Apartments South Side building in Northwest Baltimore have reported that the elevators have been inoperable for several weeks. This situation follows a fire incident that occurred on May 26.
The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the high-rise located at 2503 Violet Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on that date. Fire officials confirmed that the building's sprinkler system was activated and successfully contained the fire.
As of now, the management team for Monte Verde has not provided a timeline for when the elevators will be operational again, leaving residents to navigate the building without this essential service.
