A tragic incident occurred on Monday evening in Rockville, where a woman lost her life after her vehicle collided with a cable barrier at the entrance of a parking garage.
According to Montgomery County Police, the accident took place around 5:30 p.m. in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive. Emergency responders from both the police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.
Upon their arrival, they found the woman unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene. An adult male passenger in the vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital; however, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
The police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle crash. Authorities have stated that the identity of the deceased woman will be disclosed once her family has been informed.
