Father and Daughter Arrested in Burtonsville Stabbing Incident

Authorities have arrested a father and daughter in connection with a stabbing incident involving a family member in Burtonsville.

William Andrew Dunn, 54, and his daughter Brittany Elaine Dunn, 24, are both charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, among other related offenses. The incident occurred on June 4 at their residence on the 3700 block of Stepping Stone Lane, where the victim also resided for the past three years.

According to court documents, the victim, who suffered a stab wound to the neck, identified his attackers as his brother and niece. Police reported that a bloody black-handled knife was found on the dining room floor at the scene.

The victim recounted that he was in the dining room when his brother approached him from behind and placed him in a chokehold. He then noticed his niece wearing blue disposable gloves and holding a knife. After losing consciousness, the victim managed to remove the knife from his neck and call 911.

William and Brittany Dunn were apprehended in Rockville on Thursday and subsequently taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. They are scheduled for preliminary hearings on July 10 at the Montgomery County District Court in Rockville.

As of now, there has been no update on the victim's condition. Online court records indicate that William Dunn is being represented by a public defender, but no comments were available from the public defender’s office. It remains unclear if Brittany Dunn has secured legal representation.
