Five Juveniles Charged with Assault Following Fells Point Incident

Baltimore Police reported that five juveniles were arrested over the weekend in Fells Point following a disturbance near Broadway Market.

Four teenage boys, aged 14, 15, 15, and 17, were taken into custody and are each facing charges of second-degree assault. In a separate incident, a 17-year-old girl was also arrested after allegedly spitting in the face of an officer when asked to leave the area, resulting in an additional second-degree assault charge.

Authorities noted that two of the arrested juveniles have prior offenses. One 15-year-old boy has a history of auto theft, while the other 15-year-old has a previous assault charge, both from earlier this year.

Additionally, police issued one violation for an open liquor container during the incidents.

In response to ongoing concerns about juvenile disturbances, the Baltimore Police Department announced that they will maintain checkpoints in Fells Point on Friday and Saturday nights, with plans to continue these efforts through Labor Day weekend.

Questions regarding curfew enforcement were directed to the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood and Safety Engagement (MONSE), which acknowledged the inquiry but has yet to provide a detailed response.
