Former Arby's Manager Charged with Felony Poisoning in Oklahoma

A former manager at an Arby's in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, is facing felony poisoning charges after being accused of spitting in a customer's food, resulting in the customer contracting herpes.

The incident involves Jennica Church, who visited the fast-food restaurant after a late shift. Following her meal, Church experienced an unusual flare-up in her mouth, prompting a visit to the doctor, who diagnosed her with herpes.

Church, who shared her meal with family members, learned from her daughter that Amanda Hendricks, the restaurant manager, had allegedly boasted about the act of spitting in her food. This claim led Church to report the incident to local authorities.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the restaurant, which reportedly confirmed the allegations against Hendricks. As a result, a warrant has been issued for her arrest, and she is charged with felony poisoning with intent to injure.

Church and her family have filed a lawsuit against Hendricks and the Arby's franchise, citing extreme emotional distress and anxiety, as well as concerns about potential health implications for her family.

Church expressed her fears about the impact of the incident on her work in the service industry, stating that she is now apprehensive about being served food by others. Her mother-in-law, Patricia Dollarhite, shared her frustration over the emotional toll on the family, particularly regarding physical affection in their household.

The family's attorney, Will Blocker, criticized the apparent culture at the restaurant, suggesting that the behavior witnessed may reflect broader issues within the franchise.

As of now, there has been no response from Arby's regarding the allegations or the ongoing legal situation.
