Group of Six Attacks 74-Year-Old Man Outside Baltimore 7-Eleven

A disturbing incident unfolded last week outside a 7-Eleven in Baltimore, where a group of six individuals assaulted a 74-year-old man in an apparent attempted robbery.

Surveillance video, released by Baltimore police, captures the brutal attack that took place shortly before 4 a.m. on July 7 at the 7-Eleven on Liberty Heights Avenue. The footage shows the suspects, dressed in hoodies, knocking the elderly man to the ground multiple times and hurling objects at him.

In a particularly alarming moment, one assailant appears to aim an assault rifle at the victim while another wields a sword. Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor bruises from the encounter.

This incident has raised concerns about safety in the Northern District, even as Mayor Brandon Scott recently highlighted a decrease in violent crime in the city. According to his announcement, Baltimore recorded 50 homicides in the first half of 2026, marking the lowest total for that period in the city’s history.

Despite the overall decline in violence, this attack serves as a reminder of ongoing safety issues in certain areas. The Baltimore Police Department has not yet provided further comments regarding this specific incident.
