Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit is currently investigating a fatal stabbing that took place near the Charles Street metro station on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a call reporting a stabbing at approximately 11:28 p.m. at 20 W. Baltimore Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a 20-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

The victim was quickly transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

At the scene, detectives observed indications of a struggle in the unit block of West Baltimore Street. Forensic investigators were seen documenting evidence within the metro station.
