PIKESVILLE, Md. — Starting at 7 PM on Sunday, the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) will initiate lane closures on the outer loop of I-695. The work is scheduled to continue until 9 AM on Tuesday, June 30th.
The construction will focus on upgrading sections of guardrail and resurfacing the pavement on the right side of the westbound lanes, specifically between MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) and I-795 (Northwest Expressway).
Motorists traveling through this area should expect closures on the right side and the right auxiliary lane during this period. Officials recommend that drivers plan to leave earlier than usual or consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
This project is part of a broader $184 million Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and safety on I-695 between I-70 and MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard).
MDOT urges drivers to remain vigilant and minimize distractions while navigating through the work zone. For roadside assistance, motorists can call #77 on their mobile devices.
