Baltimore County Councilman Izzy Patoka officially conceded the Democratic primary for County Executive to his colleague, Julian Jones, on Saturday evening.
The primary election, held on Tuesday, initially left the race undecided, though Jones maintained a lead throughout the vote counting process.
In a text message sent to Jones, Patoka offered his congratulations on the campaign and expressed his intention to support Jones in the general election against Republican nominee Pat Dyer. Patoka noted that he waited to reach out until the majority of mail-in ballots had been counted.
Jones’s victory positions him as the Democratic nominee for County Executive, as he prepares for the upcoming general election.
