Madewell Issues Recall for Women's Sweaters Due to Fire Risk

Madewell has announced a recall affecting two styles of women's sweaters due to serious burn hazards that could lead to injury or death. The recall includes the Double V-Neck Pullover and the V-Neck Cardigan.

These sweaters, which come in light blue and cream colors, feature long sleeves and a V-neck design. They were available in sizes XS through L, with some models sold with buttons and others without.

The affected products can be identified by the presence of the Madewell name and size printed on the neck label, as well as the style numbers "Style #NT611" or "Style #NT612" and "HO24" found on the sewn-in side seam label.

The recalled sweaters were sold at Madewell and T.J. Maxx stores across the country, as well as online at Madewell.com, from December 2024 to October 2025, with prices ranging from $138 to $148.

Consumers who purchased these sweaters are advised to cease using them immediately and reach out to Madewell for a full refund in the original payment method or store credit. In a unique request, customers are instructed to destroy the sweaters by cutting them in half and sending a photo of the destroyed item to [email protected] before disposing of the remnants.

So far, there has been one reported incident of a sweater catching fire, prompting this urgent recall.
