BALTIMORE — A 45-year-old man, identified as Lamont Bates, has been arrested and charged in relation to the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Xavier Williams in northwest Baltimore.
Police took Bates into custody on June 23 after he was apprehended during a shoplifting incident at a store located in the 4600 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. Authorities revealed that Bates was already wanted for his involvement in the shooting that occurred on June 20 in the 5400 block of Park Heights Avenue.
Bates faces multiple charges, including first- and second-degree murder, along with several violations related to handgun possession.
