A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Shot Tower Station in Baltimore, where a man was fatally struck by a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) train.

Baltimore City fire crews were dispatched to the scene, located in the 700 block of East Baltimore Street, shortly after 2:15 p.m. MTA Police were also called following reports of an individual on the tracks beneath a subway car.

Initial reports indicate that the male victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, became trapped after being hit by the train. Emergency personnel worked quickly to extricate him and initiated life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As authorities conducted their investigation, train services were temporarily halted. Initially, Baltimore Police were treating the case as a homicide; however, early findings suggested that the man may have accidentally fallen onto the tracks.
